Passion and Enthusiasm
Every week, I want to talk about a new topic and be together to share in this wonderful journey we are going through together. I love the quote that says “Life is always ‘Life’ing” and it is interesting how that happens. When just the stresses of everyday life, work, kids, finances, debt, bad relationship, and so many different dynamics happen all around us.
A good friend of mine Dona Root said, “people often forget how many hats an individual actually wears, and it okay to take certain hats on and off.” But the thing I wanted to share and discuss today are these word we call passion and enthusiasm. Passion and enthusiasm are the characteristics that can really carry us through the obstacles, the objections, and the roadblocks that stop all of us right in our tracks.
I went to Disneyland this last year, and I wanted to look more into the Walt Disney story. I wanted to look into the enthusiasm that allowed him to turn his sketches into cartoons, which lead to movies, then the global destination and theme parks around the world. Often these sketches were seen as crazy. But now looking back, it was the raw passion and enthusiasm that he had deep down inside that has now changed the world completely. This made me think about developing the characteristics of passion and enthusiasm and how important it is in everyone’s life.
Developing passion and enthusiasm
Passion and enthusiasm are important in every aspect of our lives, not just work. I often think about what Martin Luther King said, “if a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michaelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel. He should sweep streets so well, that all the people of heaven and earth will pause to say ‘here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well’”. With all of the different characteristics that we do, whether we’re network marketers, mentors, carpet cleaners, janitors, no matter what it is, if we took the same approach Martin Luther King talked about, how much more enjoyable would out life be?
Next week, I want to go over passion and enthusiasm in your work. Find passion in the things you do every day is extremely important. If you are not going about your life with passion and enthusiasm, look at what you are doing and change it! Find something you are passionate about, and incorporate it into your daily life.
